DESCRIPTION
Tahin is made from organic hulled sesame seeds. It has a rather dense consistency, with an aroma reminiscent of peanuts, though less sweet and intense, while the flavor is more like roasted walnuts.
Ideal
for combining with pureed chickpeas, oil, lemon, and garlic to make delicious
hummus.
As you probably know, ‘tahini’ is mostly used in Middle Eastern cuisine. The secret to a really good tahini is toasting the sesame seeds to create a cream with a fantastic texture. Just sesame and nothing else. In Middle Eastern cooking it is used in many different ways: on its own with pita, the traditional flat bread, or with raw or boiled vegetables.
