WHAT IS MATCHA TEA
Matcha tea contains caffeine and a high concentration of L-theanine which regulates the absorption of caffeine, thus providing a boost that will not leave you nervous. Proof? Long before it became fashionable, Japanese monks used this tea to increase their concentration during meditation and still do.
After harvesting, the leaves of this tea are immediately dried and passed into granite millstones. This process takes a long time, as it has to be done very slowly to preserve the color, aroma and taste of the leaves. The result is the renowned jade green powder.
3 WAYS TO PREPARE MATCHA TEA
TRADITIONAL: pour the Matcha green tea powder (about 1-2 g per cup) into a cup, add 1/3 of the water (total 70 ml) brought to a boil and then let it cool for 1 minute, beat with a bamboo whisk ( chasen) until creamy, add the remaining water and continue stirring. The result: extraordinarily creamy, rich and delicious green tea
HOT MATCHA LATTE: prepare tea as in the traditional version, add your favorite hot frothed milk, sweeten and enjoy.
COLD MATCHA LATTE: prepare the tea as in the traditional version, pour it into a large glass glass, add 4-5 ice cubes and your favorite cold frothed milk with cappuccinatore, sweeten to taste if desired and enjoy. Tip: for a tastier and creamier version, you can prepare ice cubes with your favorite milk instead of water and blend them before adding them to the tea.
